Our Story

From Kids Minds is a family business founded by Scott (dad), Catherine (mom), and their two children (Ian age 17 and Jennifer age 14).

When Ian and Jennifer were in middle school, the family started playing their own version of Shark Tank.  Each of the children would try to come up with an additional feature or improvement on an existing product or even better come up with a new product idea.  Some of the product ideas were really exciting and a patent was applied for and granted (Car Seat Divider - Patent # 8720991).

What began as a game of creativity soon advanced to the children wanting to know how to turn their ideas into a real-life product.  They couldn't find a website that would help them on their quest.

The family set out to build an online platform to educate kids and their parents regarding the invention, patent and prototyping process and showcase the products based on the children’s inventions.  All intellectual property, rights of ownership and profits from the products are remitted to the kids and their parent/guardians.

We need the website to cover its own costs, expansion and marketing.  Each order includes a 12% service charge on top of the price paid to the child/guardian to cover operating expenses.
